The College of Information Sciences and Technology seeks a highly motivated and innovative Business Intelligence Analyst ready to provide data query creation, reporting assessment, and modeling data, accessing and querying internal and external data sets to extend to the college’s data warehouse capabilities; and design and creation of data reports and visualizations. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the academic and administrative leadership to create routine to moderately complex applications to ensure delivery of the highest quality and accurate information across all functional areas within the college. Essential responsibilities of this position include: accessing and querying internal and external (where available) data sets to extend the college’s data warehouse capabilities; design and creation of data reports and visualization models that are intuitive and user-friendly to users as well as timely and accurate dissemination; design and implement tools/databases that enhance the collection of and reporting of approved data; assist in the coordination with various user groups to gather and analyze requirements and promote the correct interpretation and use of University information; assist, when necessary, in the development of training material and delivering training for data warehouse and reporting deliverables; and assist in the coordination of gathering and analyzing requirements and development of a learning analytics dashboard for faculty and student use. Candidate must have experience with relational and dimensional data modeling, professional experience with structured databases (using SQL), and should have a basic understanding of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL/ELT) business practices. Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (iTwo), or Tableau is preferred. Knowledge of Python and/or machine learning is a plus. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong data analysis skills, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have some experience/knowledge of higher education processes, particularly areas related to student data, finance, human resources, compliance and research functions and strategic planning. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
