The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and The Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute (LTI) at the Pennsylvania State University invite applications for a Post-Doctoral scientist position focusing on cementitious materials. Required qualifications include: Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field; extensive research experience in concrete materials; familiarity with specifications and standards related to concrete materials; strong track record in scientific contributions supported by peer-reviewed publications; and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Research experience with asphalt materials and specifications desired but not required. Responsibilities for the position include executing Federal and State Department of Transportation sponsored research projects, supervision of graduate research assistants in these projects, leading the authorship of project reports and journal publications, and assisting in preparation of future research proposals.
