Description

The School of Labor and Employment Relations seeks to hire two part-time employees for a shared position for the remainder of the 2019/20 academic year, as well as for the upcoming 2020/21 academic year. These positions will involve working from mid-August through mid-May with no summer hours required. It may be an ideal opportunity for applicants who have other obligations in the summer months. The individual split shifts of the position are expected to be 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, depending on availability of each employee. The work environment in the School of Labor and Employment Relations is dynamic, lively, and collaborative with a high value placed on maintaining a positive atmosphere. The individuals in this position must provide professional and welcoming customer service to a wide range of people, including students, employment recruiters, alumni, faculty/staff, visiting scholars, and internal and external vendors, as well as other guests. Duties will include but are not limited to: answering phones, greeting visitors, managing office supplies, maintaining the overall appearance of the reception area, making copies, sorting mail, and handling packages. Experience providing exceptional customer service and managing multiple tasks at once is desirable. Both candidates must be able to work independently as well as cooperatively in their shared duties, and as contributing members of the larger team. Applicants should also demonstrate evidence of successful experience working comfortably with diverse populations.
