Description

The Office of Student Activities is seeking graduate interns for Campus Programming who are committed to fostering exploration, campus and community engagement, and the development of students through educational and experiential opportunities. Our department provides support to recognized student organizations, sponsors a variety of service and leadership opportunities, implements campus-wide programming, and supports the Student Activities Offices at the Commonwealth Campuses. We also advise and support several University Affiliate student organizations such as Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee, University Park Allocation Committee, Student Programming Association, Homecoming, and THON. The graduate interns will report to the Program Coordinators for Campus Programming and will be responsible for providing support for either the Student Programming Association or Penn State Homecoming. The intern working with Homecoming will focus on leadership development and the creation of an assessment plan for the organization. The intern working with the Student Programming Association will focus on program and student leader advising and support. Additional responsibilities to be discussed based on the professional interests of the successful candidates. Both positions will require some weekend and evening hours. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong program planning, advising, facilitation, and communication skills. Qualified candidates will be those currently enrolled in the Master’s in Higher Education program at the University Park campus. These are paid internships for a maximum of 20 hours a week with an official end date of May 8, 2020.
