Penn State Shenango seeks a dynamic Marketing Strategy and Public Relations Coordinator to create and evaluate internal and external marketing and public relations campaigns that will raise the visibility of the campus, its' academic programs, the student experience, and community initiatives. The position will follow university guidelines in the design of public relations pieces; social media campaigns; print advertising; and graphic pieces, while maintaining and supporting diversity and inclusivity on this campus. The successful candidate will effectively use print and social media to promote a positive image of the campus, and its' internal and external partners. Responsibilities will include creating and executing a strategic plan to guide the use of social media accounts, and print pieces; using data, analytics, and metrics to measure the success of social media efforts; using video to tell the Penn State story; using graphic design software to produce visually appealing materials; and writing news articles for publication on university platforms. Additionally, the position will coordinate public events and special projects as assigned and will serve as a photographer for a variety of events. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred. The successful candidate will exhibit creativity, have exceptional writing, editing, and oral communication skills, and experience with video production, photography, and graphic design. Demonstrated commitment to working in a highly collaborative environment that is welcoming of diverse narratives. Strong project management, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Experience with AP style and newswriting required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
