Student Affairs is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of marketing and communications initiatives for two departments. This position will raise awareness of Student Affairs programming, facilities, services, and resources while ensuring materials and communications align with Penn State and Student Affairs brand guidelines. Primary responsibilities include design and development of print and digital marketing materials and content creation for press releases, website pages, and social media. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a marketing strategy, analyzing the results of marketing and communications efforts, and using them to improve future strategy. The Marketing Strategy Specialist should have basic graphic design experience, strong writing/editing skills, and know how to write press releases, marketing copy, web copy, and social media content. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience overseeing student workers preferred. Additional qualifications include excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines. This position requires proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and experience with web content management systems, ideally Drupal. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of creativity and the ability to develop marketing messages and materials relevant to a student population.
