Description

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking to hire a part-time research technician to work in Professor David Gilmour`s lab. This position is for 10 to 15 hours per week on an NIH funded project, studying mechanisms of transcription regulation. The job will involve: constructing DNA plasmids to express proteins in E. coli and Drosophila, analyzing the behavior of normal and mutant proteins in flies and Drosophila tissue culture cells, and assisting other members in the laboratory with their experiments. The individual should have some prior laboratory experience and knowledge of molecular processes that occur in cells. Prior experience working with Drosophila is desirable.
