Description

The Pennsylvania State University is accepting applications for an Instructional Designer to be located at the Penn State Beaver campus. Responsibilities: This position will support the University College in the development of online and hybrid courses by working directly with faculty members. Courses will be developed and maintained for University College shared degree programs such as Administration of Justice, Project and Supply Chain Management, and Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations as identified by the Associate VP and Senior Associate Dean for the Commonwealth Campuses and faculty within those programs. In addition to new courses developed by this position, the designer will manage the design of a collection of courses and content developed for the University College. In addition, 25% of this position will be supporting faculty instructional design needs in general (faculty who teach for non-shared degrees) at the Penn State Beaver campus. This position will also work with Instructional Designers and faculty at other campus locations in support of Commonwealth Campus shared academic programs. Travel to Penn State campuses is part of the multi-campus nature of this position, but many meetings can be facilitated via online video conferencing. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in instructional design is preferred. Experience with course review processes (such as Quality Matters) and program assessment is desirable. The individual must have the ability to collaborate and consult with faculty members on the effective use of learning strategies, multimedia, and current instructional tools and systems while ensuring compliance with copyright guidelines and accessibility standards. Experience with current generation learning management systems (Canvas is the Penn State LMS) is fundamental to this position.
