Description

Penn State World Campus Academic Advising and Student Disability Services is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to be a part of our Student Disability Services (SDS) team. The Student Disability Specialist will be responsible for working with matriculating new students who are seeking accommodations under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This person will also be responsible for designing and implementing training for faculty, designers, and student facing units regarding process and procedures within SDS; provide office support to the disability specialist; work with faculty, designers, and other university units to help provide and manage approved academic adjustments and accommodations; and collect, maintain, and distribute resources and information to students with disabilities and the university body. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
