The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is seeking a full-time Human Research Technologist to help conduct multiple clinical trials in patients with chronic liver disease. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks: Develop, design and conduct research projects, under general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel and according to standard protocols or research plans. Investigate and evaluate research methods and suggest options for improving experimental process and quality. Responsible for the operation of a specialized research area within the department and related data analysis for a research project. Oversee day-to-day operation of projects. Collect and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow protocols through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Initiate or contribute data/analysis/design for use in technical reports, documents, proposals, or oral/written presentations. Prepare reports, drafts manuscripts, and present data at meetings and conferences. Train users in equipment operation and research techniques, explain and demonstrate technology and equipment capabilities, operations limitations and outcomes. Schedule and maintain records. Assemble, test calibrate, clean or make minor repairs to equipment. Manage a limited budget. Supervise lower level staff, wage employees and/or students. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Phlebotomy skills while not required, are highly desired. Travel to Harrisburg, PA one day a week is required. This is a fixed term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.
