Description

The Corporate Communications Office (CComm) of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to incorporate advanced multimedia technology, advanced publishing, and messaging skills to develop and deliver effective communications for the Laboratory. Responsibilities include: Lead and/or perform as part of a team in the research, planning, managing, and completion for marketing campaigns and materials; create print projects, tradeshow materials, and a wide variety of print and digital marketing materials to support the projects and business; enforce standards, polices, and procedures on an ongoing basis; assist with internal forms administration to support streamlining and centralizing forms management; and assist with the maintenance of a Drupal web site for ARL, and provide continuous maintenance and upgrades to the ARL intranet. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Digital Studio or Digital Media Design desired. Experience in the following is preferred: Drupal (CMS); FourWinds (Digital Signage); Adobe products (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.); and Confluence (intranet). Experience in a government contracting or DoD environment is also preferred. The following is required: Experience with web site development using a CMS, experience with digital signage software or sufficient familiarity with similar media-delivery software, including implementation of materials from design team (video, graphic); confidence managing both print and digital media delivery on a variety of platforms. We are looking for a service-oriented team player who is at ease working with a diverse group of internal and external customers. The ability to exercise discretion, to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to quality, detail, and accuracy, and hold excellent oral and written communication skills is necessary to be successful in this position. Attendance at events may be necessary. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
