Description

Penn State Greater Allegheny seeks an Enrollment Services Specialist 3 (Admissions Counselor) to recruit students to a multi-campus system, developing relationships with prospective students, their family members, school and college counselors, and community agencies. The Enrollment Services Specialist will manage a territory consisting of several school districts and youth serving agencies within the Greater Allegheny service region, recruiting traditional and adult student populations for the University, maintaining relationships with school counselors, participating in special visitation and recruitment programs for the campus, and regularly communicating with prospective students and applicants. Other responsibilities include: Providing in-take services including taking student/parent phone calls and responding to e-mail; advising, counseling and providing information to prospective and current students on University programs and processes, as well as eligibility requirements for admission and/or financial aid; conducting individual appointments and group sessions with students and families; and communicating with a wide variety of audiences internal and external to the University. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to speak Spanish fluently is preferred but not required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is preferred, and previous experience with a CRM (customer relationship management) system, ideally Slate, is preferred. An ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university is required. The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, a willingness to travel locally and out-of-state on behalf of the campus and University, and be able to work in a high paced, flexible, team environment. Evening and weekend work should be expected. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to three publicly available clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
