The Work Control Division of the Office of Physical Plant is seeking a Facility Asset Management (FAM) Program Manager to manage the departments and personnel responsible for the functional administration of OPP’s Facilities and Asset Management (FAM) programs, including Enterprise Asset Management (Maximo and related applications), Enterprise GIS (ArcGIS), Enterprise Document Management (DocFinity), and FAM Training (Cornerstone OnDemand). The FAM Program Manager works closely with internal and external customers and business partners to provide guidance and recommend solutions that will enable the organization to achieve its goals, while ensure the integrity of the business application and business processes via best management practices. This position is responsible for managing the departmental budget to provide day-to-day operational resources and budgets for enhancement and/or upgrade of business systems. The FAM Program Manager is responsible for developing departmental policy and strategic direction to ensure proper operation of applications and systems needed to support business operations of customers and ensure integrity of processes and data. This position provides guidance and expertise in application practices to the business; acts as liaison between functional users and IT staff, and translates Enterprise Asset Management business requirements into technical specifications for IT to support the purchase and deployment of new hardware, systems or applications; evaluates new applications or evolving business needs and identifies system requirements, including design, testing and training; supports project activities; develops business cases; interprets business issues or needs and recommends solutions and best practices; seeks opportunities to leverage application functionality to meet business needs; prepares documentation and communications on system modifications; solves complex problems with strong troubleshooting skills accompanied with a broad perspective across the enterprise; recognizes problems which may span multiple applications. Candidates must have excellent management skills, including the ability and commitment to develop and implement practices that promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships and inclusive relationships among diverse groups of employees, communicate university initiatives and connection to unit mission and activities, demonstrate dedication to and facilitate exemplary customer service by the unit, actively pursue career growth and development of job skills for staff, and develop, and implement quality improvement practices and processes that impact unit and customer operations. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Management or related discipline or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred. Experience in Maximo or similar Enterprise Asset Management applications is required. Graduate degree in a technical discipline or broader business is valued. Certifications a plus. Candidates must have strong technical knowledge, including knowledge of methodologies and technical aspects within IT, in-depth knowledge of project methodologies, knowledge of implementation and operations best practices, knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes, the ability to identify, capture and translate business requirements for Enterprise Asset Management functional users, the ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
