Description

The Division of Outcomes Research and Quality, Department of Surgery at the Penn State College of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time Proposal and Award Generalist who is detail oriented and will assist and advise faculty and residents with manuscript and grant submissions. This requires reviewing sponsor guidelines and completing the necessary forms for the sponsor and internal procedures before submitting a proposal for external consideration. Database entry and maintenance is included using Access and Redcap. This position may distribute funding opportunities, prepare IAFs, monitor timelines, prepare cost share letters and budget drafts, and format reference lists. They will also assist faculty in obtaining special approvals for human subjects, animal care, invention disclosures, patents, and copyrights. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Systems in use include Microsoft Office suite, SIMS, CATS, Redcap, and Adobe Professional and EndNote. Ability to manage multiple projects and work with various faculty members simultaneously is necessary for success in this position. Medical terminology knowledge helpful. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
