Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is responsible for the development and implementation of environmental and occupational health and safety programs to promote a safe work environment throughout Penn State. The EHS Administrative Support Assistant position is a vital part of the team in helping to continue the vision and mission of the department. In this role, the person serves as the main receptionist to aid those seeking assistance from the office and provides administrative support to the EHS team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: serve as main receptionist for the Department of Environmental Health and Safety; answer requests and provide assistance to all visitors; process emergency requests and maintain critical call out lists; assist staff with review and editing of documentation and EHS website; assist staff with the University learning management system and maintain training records; conduct filing and data entry; organize and schedule meetings; and assist with the day-to-day support of the EHS office and team. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Office software experience preferred. Must demonstrate a commitment to a community where diversity and sustainability are valued. In addition, excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with other departments are necessary.
