The Filippelli Institute in the College of the Liberal Arts is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Interactive Web Developer with our Learning Design Team. We are looking for someone who is energetic, creative and enjoys collaborating with others to improve the student learning experience. Knowledge of both the front and back ends of web applications is preferred. The position will involve designing and building interactive course elements for course content, analyzing and improving existing applications, and managing databases and servers. The individual who fills this position will have the opportunity work independently and also as part of a team. They will be responsible for brainstorming ideas for course-related activities, resolving problems as they arise, and consulting with the Learning Design Team, faculty authors and external contacts. We are looking for a dependable team player who is self-motivated and passionate about creating programming solutions. The candidate will have familiarity with installed software standards and procedures and evaluate other tools to find the appropriate fit into application development. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Some knowledge of Linux and Apache preferred. Knowledge of Drupal is a plus. Candidates should be comfortable with changing priorities and be open to developing new skills. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with our academic partners. Accountability, attention to detail and a proven commitment to customer service are also desired. Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, Javascript and SQL required.
