Penn State Harrisburg, School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering with a fall semester 2020 starting date. We are seeking exceptional candidates in all areas of Mechanical Engineering (e.g., thermal/fluids, solid mechanics, robotics, combustion, manufacturing, machine design, etc.) Candidates should be qualified to teach and develop courses in the core curriculum of a mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering technology programs. Candidates are expected to engage in research and scholarly activities, participate in school/college/university and professional service, assist with ABET accreditation processes, and advise students. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, potential to perform lab development activities, and the ability to foster graduate and undergraduate research. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering is required by time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with industrial expertise and teaching experience.
