Description

This position will oversee 20+ department Financial Coordinators and Assistants throughout the College of Medicine (COM). This position will be responsible for instituting best practices across the departments, provide strategic advice to department Chairs, budget executives, and finance executives, manage training when positions are backfilled, ensuring financial compliance with PSU and COM finance policies and make recommendations for improvements, and assuring continuance of work-flow during times of vacancies or absences. Instituting best practices includes: streamlining financial functions, providing financial statements/analysis including historical trends and providing recommendations to executives, preparing progress reports and forecasting future scenarios, and developing procedures that save time and money. This position will also manage the budgeting process for all departments, approve journal entries, approve spending limits, and ensure compliance within those set limits. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus ten years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
