The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is seeking a Human Research Technologist 2 to help conduct research initiatives, focused on addiction and addiction treatment, headed by Scott Bunce, Ph.D. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to aid in primary research focusing on the reduction of craving in Opioid Use Disorder. The successful candidate will have the desire and capacity to work with both technology and people. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for interaction with research participants and clinicians. Technological savvy, comfort with computers and end-user software, and a willingness to learn are critical skills for this position. The primary responsibilities will be to recruit and schedule subjects/participants based on eligibility requirements, provide study explanation, obtain informed consent, obtain psychiatric and medical histories, administer diagnostic interviews, (e.g., the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview, or M.I.N.I.) and to collect neuroimaging data utilizing functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIR). Secondary duties include data entry, maintain subject/participant database, conduct/score rating scales and questionnaires, assist in obtaining patient study data from medical records, maintain records (research data, regulatory binders, study databases), order/organize lab materials, monitor incoming data for accuracy, troubleshoot for technical problems/maintain protocol integrity, monitor safety and confidentiality of project and subjects/participants, assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB)amendments, continuations, and renewals. Experience programming and running E-Prime and/or MATLAB programs is highly valued. Experience with clinical trials is a plus. The candidate will be an essential and contributory member of the research team and must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to work with professional teams and to maintain collaborative relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff. Excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and to work independently, and the capability to understand and execute complex instructions are critical. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. The candidate should have significant experience in interacting with various regulatory agencies. The candidate will be required to stay current in the areas of program compliance, government regulations, University policies, and IRB requirements. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to applicants with training and interest in mental health and addiction. Should have experience in administering psychiatric diagnostic and clinical rating scales. Applicants with flexibility in work hours preferred due to research participant recruitment needs (some evening hours may be needed). Significant consideration will be given to applicants with knowledge/experience with the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (M.I.N.I.) and with neuroimaging. Experience with REDCap is preferred. This is a fixed term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
