Description

The Center for Business Development and Community Outreach at Penn State Scranton provides continuing education, professional development and career advancement resources in response to the region’s educational and professional development needs. Our team at Penn State serves students, working professionals, entrepreneurs, businesses and community organizations by providing summer camps, workshops, professionally relevant courses, certificate programs and customized corporate training opportunities. We are currently seeking applications for a part time Administrative Support Assistant. The schedule for this position will be 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a half hour unpaid lunch. The successful candidate will have a broad variety of responsibilities including greeting customers and visitors, handling routine requests, ordering office supplies, assisting with events, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, ensuring the office is compliant with records management policies, and directing, screening, reviewing, and processing mail and phone communications. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with standard computer applications and programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
