The Pennsylvania State University Information Technology (IT) Service Desk is seeking Training Specialists who will perform a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of The Pennsylvania State University IT Service Desk’s continual training needs and efforts. The Training Specialist is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in carrying out a variety of assignments within established guidelines. These assignments include designing and development training programs, development of, and sustaining student staff training programs, providing instructional support, identify internal training programs to address competency gaps, partner with internal stakeholders regarding Department training needs, development and compilation of training aids, virtual training, mentoring and coaching. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assess training needs for new and existing student employees, coordinate new student employee training, assist with design and application of assessment tools to measure effectiveness, track and report on training outcomes and provide recommendations on program material and methodology, maintain, submit and track employee training records, records related to the training function. The selected candidate will be expected to research new training materials, evaluate and provide feedback on training materials, liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional training design and consult with staff members.
