Description

The Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center (PRC; prevention.psu.edu), housed within the College of Health and Human Development (HHD), is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized administrative professional to provide support to join our team. This position will provide general administration support to the Center; coordination of facilities and technology requirements, office space and phones, office key maintenance and distribution, C-Cure access, computers and tangible assets inventories, emergency response procedures, information processing and data entry. Maintaining inventory for and purchasing supplies; maintaining and updating directories, mailing lists and listservs; serving as resource and backup to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, subject/participant databases, safety and confidentiality of projects and subjects/participants, and any and all other University/College/Center administrative policies, processes and procedures. Additionally, this position will provide support for Center internal and external events; annual lectures, seminar series and Center meetings and assist others in office as needed. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to work independently and as a member of a team is critical to succeed in this position. The successful individual will be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, and be pro-active in preparing for deadlines. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
