Join a dynamic, customer oriented team of The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel; one of two premier properties owned and operated by The Pennsylvania State University under the Penn State Hospitality Services (PSHS) umbrella, in beautiful central Pennsylvania. An Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager with business functions, direct daily operations of on-premise and off-premise catering functions. Coordinate employees work schedule and assure that all functions/events are properly staffed. As requested by management, prepare reports, maintain off-premise event files and initiate all event changes to master book, maintain log records and analysis of customer satisfaction levels. Responsible for implementing on-going training/marketing sessions for employees. Communicate service initiatives to technical service and part-time employees. Assist with interviews and hiring of part-time employees. Also responsible for assisting manager and/or assume the duties of the manager when unavailable. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be friendly, outgoing and give top priority to customer satisfaction and a strong commitment to Diversity and Inclusion. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
