Description

Guests are the first priority. In this position, the most important job is to greet and welcome the guest upon entering the restaurant. The host responsibilities are vast and include all of the following: Greeting guests who come to the restaurant in a friendly, inviting and professional manner. Seat guests according to reservation requests and in proper server rotation using the seating chart as reference. Keep in mind that often you will need to be willing and able to meet requests such as window or special table requests; guests joining other tables, requesting specific servers; elderly or handicapped guests who may not be able to walk far. Adjust rotation based on standard variables, and keep counts even among servers and inform servers when they have been seated a new table if server is not present on the floor. Update the seating chart and floor plan each time a new table is seated or when a table is cleared and reset and plan ahead of time where the next table should be seated. Responsible for awareness of shift activity including all group and transient reservations. Also be familiar with the cashier standards. This reference tool can be used to: find information about the hotel and restaurants and to locate extensions of Legends, kitchen, front desk, and managers’ office, menus and buffets we offer, hours of operation and pricing. Be able to answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner and/or direct guests to other areas of the property. Take room service orders and expedite them to Dining Room Associate team members. Responsible for cash and credit card handling, maintain a balanced cash bag and, end of shift paperwork. Responsible for taking reservations via phone and in person and following proper protocol. Responsible to maintain an organized, clean and professional looking work station. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
