Description

Penn State Extension is seeking a 4-H Summer Intern to maintain and support Cooperative Extension programs within Bradford County. The Intern will work as a member of the County Extension team to provide assistance in development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned extension programs. The individual will work primarily with 4-H Educators in maintaining and expanding the 4-H program in the county through a variety of programs. Responsibilities will include: Help conduct county 4-H programs, events and activities, including fundraisers; Assist with Animal Camps or clinics - recruiting teen leaders, organizing workshops, planning games and educational activities; Assist staff with programs and schedule of events at the County Fair and Roundups; Establish, plan, organize, and teach community day camps and/or summer programs; Attend NE Regional 4-H camp and plan events during camp; Develop marketing materials for summer programs and the general 4-H program; Prepare written reports and plans of work as required by the 4-H program, meet on a regular basis with the extension staff; Make copies and staple materials as requested; Establish and maintain summer files; Complete a summer project and determined by you and the educator; Other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary. Date of employment: May through August. Salary: $9.00 per hour/40-hour work week. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Prefer students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college with a major in Education, Agriculture or another applicable major. Must enjoy working with youth; be a team player; be highly self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision. Child abuse, PA Criminal and FBI Clearances must be obtained prior to first day of work. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
