Description

The Stairs Lab, in the Pathology Department at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine (PSUCOM) in Hershey, PA, is recruiting an outstanding technician to work in a goal focused, team oriented environment to apply their knowledge in the area of oncology research. Specifically, we are seeking an individual with 6+ years of experience. The candidate should have basic laboratory and/or animal-care skills to contribute to efforts characterizing interactions of tumor suppressors and oncogenes, and the impact of these on clinical outcomes. The successful candidate is expected to be proficient in standard molecular biology techniques (eg. qPCR, nucleic acid purification, cloning and Western blotting), and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The technician will be expected to maintain the daily operations of the laboratory, train new personnel, manage and participate in the execution of research projects, and analyze experimental data. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) or higher plus seven years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Above all, candidates must have a strong work ethic, superb organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail in order to be successful in this position.
