The Accounting Department– Labor and Travel Team of The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking a Financial Assistant to support the ARL Finance Office with approving travel expense reports and processing labor related transactions. Responsibilities include: review various Workday reports for biweekly and monthly employees for reconciliation of completion of time recording; review hours recorded, submitted and approved prior to payroll deadlines; assist with approving travel reimbursement via ERS system; review receipts versus costs, review appropriate approval for account charging; support end users in use of ERS and Workday systems including travel and labor related policies; process labor related transfers for corrections and posting of adjustments to ARLINK, ARL's Financial System; record ARL Service Centers charging direct to awards and credit to recovery accounts via ARLINK and IBIS; and backup other financial assistants in their daily activities Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the following is preferred: Financial or accounting background; Workday; ERS; ARLINK; and IBIS. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, proficiency in Microsoft Office, great presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
