Description

The Center for Eukaryotic Gene Regulation (CEGR) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Support Assistant to provide operational support to a team of faculty, and to assist the Director of the CEGR facility with completing the administrative tasks needed to run a research group. This position will be involved in monitoring budgets, arranging, and coordinating travel, processing reimbursements, assisting with lab ordering and reconciling purchasing cards for assigned faculty members within the CEGR group. They will be responsible for maintaining the CEGR directory, conference room scheduling, email listservs, the CEGR website and assist with coordinating and managing regular group meals, and an annual retreat. Other administrative functions may include assisting faculty members with updating faculty activity reports, curriculum vitae, and promotion and tenure dossiers; maintaining calendars; and scheduling appointments. The successful candidate will work closely with the Eberly College of Science (ECoS) Finance Office and Research Office to facilitate the processing of appropriate forms and documents. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Experience with ERS, eBuy+, and FIT preferred but not required. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
