The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) is seeking an Administrative Support Coordinator. This new member of our administrative team will serve a coordinator role in the complex business functions of the Institute. The position will oversee our internal seed grant program. Duties will include but are not limited to, compose and edit correspondence to faculty, various publications and reports; verify and validate proposal applications, manage deadlines and analyze/summarize research data for various reports for internal/external distribution. This position is also responsible for coordinating arrangements for and providing support for various SSRI advisory boards and executive committees, to include organizing data, agenda, meeting materials, grants and reports. Finally, this position will oversee the administration of the SSRI Faculty Co-Fund review process to ensure documents are accurate and deadlines are met. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have work experience in a research-focused academic environment, possess strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills, and can effectively multi-task in the context of rapidly changing projects. Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products and Penn State software (including ERS, eBuy, and IBIS) is preferred. Requires the ability to work well with multiple stakeholders (including University officials, donors, alumni, faculty, staff and students), thrive under pressure, and demonstrate sensitivity to diversity. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with a good possibility for re-funding.
