Penn State Mont Alto seeks a dynamic and experienced marketing and public relations professional to serve as Director of Public Relations and Marketing effective March 1, 2020. Penn State Mont Alto is a welcoming community of about 800 students and over 200 full and part-time professionals. This position is responsible for providing leadership in the Department of Public Relations and Marketing and for implementing public relations and information programs and plans to enhance the image and visibility of the campus to prospective students; producing and editing a variety of publications including a campus magazine and alumni e-newsletter; the development and implementation of advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to enhance and stimulate potential student interest in various University programs. Characteristic duties and responsibilities include the ability to plan, develop and implement public relations and promotion programs. Coordinate and produce publications. Serve as campus spokesperson. Ensure and coordinate coverage of events with media to obtain publicity. Write and edit news releases, feature articles and correspondence. Provide script and speech writing support. Coordinate miscellaneous communication and promotion vehicles. Provide oversight of the campus Website and review material for appropriate content. Supervise the campus webmaster and department staff assistant. Act as liaison with other University departments and media contacts. Plan and manage budget(s). Collaborate with enrollment management to help achieve campus enrollment goals. Requires knowledge of latest marketing and digital technology, including social media platforms. The Director is a member of the chancellor’s cabinet and strategic planning group. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
