Description

The College of Engineering, Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA) is seeking multiple dynamic, hardworking, skilled professionals for the positions of Proposal and Awards Generalist, one for its pre-award team and one for the post-award team. These positions will perform most work activities in a large volume, fast-paced, complex, detailed and multifaceted environment. Responsible for assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation and development of proposals and contracts for funding sponsored programs. Review, analyze, and process proposals, contracts and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations. Advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. Prepare budgets for proposals and maintain contract records and reports for sponsored projects. Provide assistance in all aspects of post-award administration: compliance, reports, invoices, create new accounts, AURAs, BARAs, revised budgets, account transfers, no-cost extension requests, monitor deadlines, resolve problems. Serve as liaison with sponsors and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff. Assist in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Graduate of Penn State ACES Program and experience with electronic proposal submission sites, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and SIMS/SIMS Budgets is preferred. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
