The Director will develop, refine, and implement strategic plans in recruitment, admissions, and student aid that align with the strategic direction established by campus leadership. The successful candidate will bring innovative thinking and a collaborative leadership style to motivate and empower the Admissions and Student Aid team, resulting in growing enrollment and retention outcomes for the campus. This position will be a key member of the campus leadership team, working closely with the Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer on admissions and financial aid strategies, and collaborating effectively with campus faculty and staff to advance recruiting efforts. Significant planning, data analysis, event organization and facilitation of overall enrollment management operations and recruitment marketing required. Includes direct recruitment via high school visits, college fairs and one-on-one meetings. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher (Master's degree preferred) or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Master’s degree in Higher Education or related field is preferred. Experience with college recruitment, public relations, student aid, and/or related field is preferred. Prior experience as manager or director of a unit preferred. Experience with Slate (or another Customer Relationship Management system) is helpful. Excellent written and oral communication skills, and an ability to engage individuals in a dialog on the benefits of pursuing a Penn State degree is necessary. This position requires exceptional communication skills to develop and implement enrollment strategies and proactively communicate with the Chancellor, campus staff and faculty, community, and various units at the University including the Undergraduate Admissions Office (University Park), the Office of Student Aid (University Park), and the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses (University Park). This position involves contact with minors and the following clearances will need to be completed and submitted prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
