Description

Information Technology in the College of the Liberal Arts (ITLA) is seeking an Operational Business Process Analyst who will be the functional administrator who is responsible for day-to-day operational activities related to streaming applications and virtual desktop environments utilized throughout the College. Currently, IT is in the process of selecting a cloud-based solution for streaming applications and virtual desktop. The successful candidate will focus on the implementation of the new solution including analysis, identification of improvements and documentation of functional processes. This position will work closely with all stakeholders to understand their process needs and partner with the vendor to configure the solution appropriately to meet these user roles and business functional requirements. Administer user access in alignment with ITLA processes and Penn State Security policies. Provide training to end-users and stakeholders. Diagnose and resolve functional problems; provide functional and specialized support to end-users and create a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities of this position also include: testing and implementation of application updates; develop and implement operational procedures to meet compliance of Penn State security policies; create business continuity plans; develop processes for ongoing audits and correction; analyze data and provide regular operational reports. A key aspect of this position is to develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders – faculty, staff and graduate students throughout the College, Information Technology department, risk management and Office of Information Security. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The preferred candidate will have experience working in a virtual desktop environment and with streaming applications. Additionally, understanding and performing elements of standard project management methodology is strongly desired. Key competencies for success in this position include the ability to thrive in a team-based environment and understand the inter-dependencies of a virtual desktop and streaming app environments and the computer deployment processes within Liberal Arts. Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels in the College.
