Description

The Eberly College of Science seeks a Proposal and Award Generalist to perform accounting functions and analysis related to research contracts. Review and process contracts and grants; process form to establish miscellaneous funds; extract data and set up spending budgets; maintain database; process no-cost extensions and continuations; read and interpret agreements to determine requirements and control. Manage funds; monitor balances and end dates; assist with budget realignments, projections and spending plans. Authorize closeouts; respond to inquiries and solve problems. Manage sub-awards and sub-contracts. Utilize Pay and Effort system; verify grad assistant tuition enrollment; maintain grad tuition database; assist with effort certification and monthly payroll voucher distribution. Review gift, foundation and company income; prepare documentation and deposit monies. Prepare reports. Assemble new files and maintain filing of confidential documents. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Excellent communication and organizational skills and a record of accuracy and attention to detail essential. Knowledge of grant/contract procedures extremely helpful. Knowledge of IBIS, SIMS, SIMSbudgets, Access, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office is recommended. Enrolled in or graduate of Penn State ACES preferred.
