The Undergraduate Admissions Office (UAO) will use this posting to fill multiple roles within the office. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: Greeting visitors entering Shields Building; Directing visitors to Bursar, Registrar, Admissions, and Student Aid offices; Providing campus directions and parking passes to visitors; Answering telephone and directing calls as needed; Answering prospective student emails and working within the UAO’s computer systems; Help cover the second floor UAO reception area by checking in families for their visits and answering questions; Assisting prospective and current Penn State students by connecting them with a counselor as needed; Communicating on a daily basis with program partners as well as the UAO staff; Coordinating and updating tour guides on any specific details for their tour; Taking initiative to ask questions, solve problems and resolve conflict to improve visitor experiences; Communicating with residence hall show room students prior to each tour; Attending mandatory staff meetings for updates throughout the semester; Coordinating students into tour groups on-site; Assisting with data entry and daily reports; Assisting with other projects and duties as assigned. Individuals should have a professional demeanor, be dedicated to customer service, and have the ability to provide accurate information to visitors. Candidates should possess good attention to detail, and strong organizational and planning skills. The student employee should be reliable and personable. Opportunities in this position to learn technology skills that will be valuable upon transition into the workforce. The ability to relate well to prospective students and their families is also required. This position pays $9.50 per hour. This position will be from January 13 through May 1, 2020.
