Description

Penn State Human Resources (HR) is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide outstanding support to the HR Data and Onboarding team. Responsibilities may include providing a positive and welcoming onboarding experience to new employees joining the Penn State community; assisting new employees with the completion of employment and human resources forms (e.g. I-9, W-4, etc.) in accordance with Federal/State laws and University policies; processing human resources and payroll forms in our Human Capital Management system, Workday; ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines; running database queries and generating various reports; and other duties as assigned. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The successful candidate must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, professionalism, the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; and a high degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information. The successful candidate will also possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies; and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
