The College of Health and Human Development is seeking a Communications and Marketing Coordinator to join its Office of Communications and Marketing. The Coordinator will have understanding of and experience in the communications industry, with strong working knowledge of marketing/communications production and general understanding of the strategic communications process. In this new position, the Coordinator will support the assessment, planning, and implementation of communications deliverables, along with day-to-day support in the Office of Communications and Marketing as an integral team member of the team. Specific responsibilities will include project inbounding, planning, and workflow; working with internal clients to assess, interpret, and support plans and tactics for communications functions; coordinating efforts and calendars among clients, team, and extended-team members; hands-on participation in production and production support (e.g. minor editing/proofing, content optimization, website monitoring and updates, social media monitoring, basic visual asset preparation, etc.); cursory training/support of organizational tools and platforms (e.g. content management system, social media management platform, etc.); managing visual assets; working with units throughout the University where applicable (e.g. University Licensing, Strategic Communications, etc.); and working with vendors to facilitate production. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position requires an individual who is highly organized and collaborative, able to manage multiple concurrent assignments, and have an appreciation for individuals and populations with diverse backgrounds. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
