Description

Penn State Human Resources is seeking an Human Resources Assistant (HRA) to provide exceptional customer service to employees in the Office of Physical Plant (OPP). The HRA will manage special projects and be a vital member of the HR team - responsible for answering questions received via telephone and e-mail, investigate and resolve routine to intermediate inquiries, coordinate with respective departments, and escalate complex inquiries to appropriate personnel. Queries handled relate to a wide range of HR topics, for both unionized and non-unionized employees, including: time off, leaves of absence, benefits, professional development, recruitment, and Penn State policies. Other responsibilities may include generating reports, compiling and analyzing data, and creating presentation materials for both presenters and for attendees. The HRA will work with the Workday Human Resource system and will input data entry into Workday, provide maintenance and administration of the system, run reports, and conduct periodic and clean-up/audits as required. The HRA will be responsible for organizing, compiling, and analyzing data and workforce analytics will be a critical part of the role including charting trends, publishing a Human Resource dashboard, and creating reports for various Human Resource compliance requirements. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information; attention to detail; commitment to handling questions and concerns with speed, accuracy and professionalism; and sound judgment and discretion in referring inquiries to other HR staff members. The successful candidate will possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies; and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
