Description

The Cocurricular Programs Coordinator for Data and Outreach for Penn State Learning is primarily responsible for the supervision of student data entry and receptionist staff working in two labs as well as online tutors of mathematics, statistics and economics. Supervision includes troubleshooting issues and backing up receptionists as needed in labs, as well as facilitating collaboration between online instructors and tutors supporting their courses. The person in this position has access to and is responsible for maintaining confidential information on students in the student tutoring database. This position also coordinates peer-tutor-led outreach programs to first-year seminars and other undergraduate courses, offering workshops on recommended research-based learning strategies, time management, test-taking and other domain-general study skills as well as short informational sessions on Penn State Learning resources. Prepares tutors to lead these programs and evaluates their delivery skills as well as the impact on students in courses visited. Also leads workshops as needed. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
