The Pennsylvania State College of Nursing’s Sexual Assault Forensic Evaluation Telehealth (SAFE-T) Center seeks an experienced, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to function as the Center’s Sexual Assault Nursing Coordinator. The SAFE-T Center is a federally funded project that aims to develop an effective model for delivering 24/7 expert Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) consultation and support via telehealth technology to health care professionals in rural and underserved communities. There are two core components to this position: expert Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Team Coordinator; and SAFE-T Training Coordinator lead. The Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of telehealth mentoring and quality assurance for a geographically dispersed virtual call team responding to rural clinical sites. Duties include the development of evidence-based protocols for telehealth mentoring/consultation; building training and providing support to an expert SANE team; and completing ongoing quality assurance for the team to ensure fidelity to the service plan. As the SANE Team Coordinator, the candidate will assist with clinical coverage of telehealth consults during the weekday. The training component consists of overseeing the creation, development, and execution, of dynamic, innovative, and evidenced-based trainings for different audiences. Trainings need to include comprehensive training for the expert nurse team on how to conduct telehealth consultations, training for the site nurses, creation of base 40 hour training for SANE nurses, and trainings as needed for community stakeholders. The Nurse Coordinator will work with an instructional designer to create hybrid courses that allow for distance education for some topics. The SAFE-T Center seeks a candidate who is passionate about the provision of high-quality, compassionate, sexual assault care as well as someone who wants to mentor others to develop these skills. This individual must have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. The ability to maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and partners throughout the project are essential. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing is strongly preferred. Related experience that is highly desirable includes: previous management/coordination of a sexual assault team; management of start-up and/or complex projects; and willingness to travel (largely within Pennsylvania). Must hold IAFN SANE-A and/or SANE-P certification. Five years of full-time equivalent experience as a sexual assault nurse preferred. The position requires a highly motivated individual with the ability to function to advance grant objectives in coordination with the grant investigators. Attention to detail and strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Please electronically submit both a cover letter and CV with your completed online application. This is a fixed term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
