The Marketing Communications Specialist is part of the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences Marketing and Communications Unit and is responsible for consulting with colleagues within the College and Penn State Extension to develop creative visual content for print and electronic communications to meet defined marketing objectives, including multimedia/print collateral, email, direct mail, website/digital, and social/search engine marketing. This position produces messaging targeting key audiences including current and future students, parents, alumni, industry partners, key stakeholders, and current and potential customers, and must develop an understanding of and appreciation for these audiences and their specific needs. This position will help maintain visual identity standards for college and extension. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will possess a high level of creative thinking, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills, attention to detail, a dedication to quality and client service, and an enduring appreciation for diverse audiences. This position requires proven experience in graphic design as part of an agency or in-house marketing or creative team. In addition, candidate must be highly organized with excellent time management skills, and the ability to shift priorities and multi-task in order to meet aggressive deadlines. The position requires a creative individual with initiative, excellent judgment, a high level of self-direction and personal accountability and the ability to manage complex projects to successful completion in a timely manner.
