Description

Student Orientation and Transition Program is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated full-time Administrative Support Assistant (Receptionist) to support new Penn State students and their families in their transition to the University. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: greet and assist visitors; review, screen and process telephone, email communications, and office mail; and assist with the management of orientation reservations. Receptionist will assist with the scheduling and maintenance of calendars for staff within the office as well as a shared conference room. Receptionist will support office leadership by running weekly enrollment reports that inform office programming and support. Provide office wide support as needed for special events, publications, online content, and other projects. Position directly reports to the Office Manager. Position works standard business hours. Reporting to both Student Affairs and Undergraduate Education, Student Orientation and Transition Programs, through collaborative partnerships, is responsible for providing a comprehensive learning experience for all Penn State undergraduate students that supports a successful academic, social and personal transition to the University. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Penn State business and student information systems and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, etc.) is preferred. Experience providing exceptional customer service, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once is expected. Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team; demonstrate evidence of successful experience working comfortably with diverse populations; and collaborate across a large complex organization.
