Description

Responsible for providing administrative support for the Vice President for Student Affairs and assists in the ongoing efforts by Student Affairs to enhance the student experience outside the classroom. Manages the daily operations of the office, coordinates the Vice President's calendar, arranges travel and meeting details. Coordinates and supports events such as dinners, receptions, roundtable discussions, and committee meetings. Serves as liaison with student leaders, Student Affairs staff, academic colleges/departments, and external constituencies and provides a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and friends of the University. Greets visitors, screens phone calls and correspondence, determines appropriate routing/action, and composes responses and other materials on behalf of the Vice President. Interacts regularly with University Executives’ offices; provides support during crisis management. Assists in providing oversight for various budgets, tracks expenditures, and reviews and approves financial transactions. Monitors compliance with University policies, ensures adherence to deadlines, and translates policies as necessary. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid technology skills, proficiency in Office 365, and experience with programs such as WorkDay, IBIS, ERS, and LionPath are preferred. Experience supporting a senior executive and working with students is also preferred. The successful candidate must have excellent leadership, written and verbal communication, and management skills related to both financial and personnel matters. Ideal candidates will have outstanding problem-solving skills, initiative, teamwork and team-building abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate sound judgement abilities. Requires the ability to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, staff, and colleagues within the University.
