Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) seeks a highly motivated Systems Administrator to join its Learning Applications and Infrastructure (LAI) team. This position coordinates the technical activities of projects and team members that install and maintain software for the TLT-managed Windows and MacOS classroom and lab computers at University Park and supports the TLT Mobile Device Management and Linux Remote Applications Cluster services. This team lead position is the direct backup of systems administrators and systems design specialist duties. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Enterprise Active Directory (EAD); ITIL/IT service management best practices, including working with a ticketing system like ServiceNow; and experience interpreting and implementing Penn State security policies is preferred. Specialized experience in the following areas is highly desirable: HCL BigFix, Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or JAMF; Active Directory and group policy management; Linux server administration; Apple School Manager device enrollment and app deployment. A strong commitment to customer service, substantial technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving analysis and critical thinking skills, quality verbal and written communication and presentation skills, the ability to learn new things quickly and independently, and high performance in a team environment are required. Experience with troubleshooting large desktop environments in Windows, macOS, and Linux; provisioning Apple devices for mobile device management; and software packaging, deployment, and license management is required.
