Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication (tenure track, 36 weeks), to begin August 2020 or as negotiated. Responsibilities include the following: teach three to four assigned courses (9-12 credits, depending on applicant`s current degree status) each semester using traditional, hybrid, and/or fully online delivery modes; pursue an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications; advise and provide career guidance to students and participate in program, campus, university, and community service activities. The person hired for this position will join one other full-time faculty member and two adjunct faculty members in a well-established, four-year degree program serving approximately 60 declared majors. Mandatory and Desired Qualifications: The successful candidate must be a Ph.D. in Communication or closely allied area, with a focus on Corporate Communication, Strategic Communication, and/or Public Relations. Consideration will be given to applicants holding a Master`s Degree with a Ph.D. proposal successfully defended. For those applicants holding a Master`s Degree, the successful candidate must complete a Ph.D. within 12 months of appointment to this position. Evidence of potential in research and publication is expected. The person hired for this position must be able to teach a 200-level introductory corporate communication course and have experience teaching media and/or business writing. An ideal candidate will have a considerable amount of applied experience in the area of external communication, a reputation as a collaborative colleague, and a strong record of working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varying levels of academic preparation.
