Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for a Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor of Business (36 weeks contract, one-year appointment) with the possibility of reappointment, to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach four courses (approximately 12 credits) each semester for our bachelor’s degrees in Business with potential to also teach Project and Supply Chain Management. Candidates must be able to teach courses in accounting, finance, and economics. Ability to teach management, project management, supply chain management, and other business administration offerings is desirable. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Additional responsibilities are: Advise students and provide career guidance, participate in campus, university, and community service activities, participation in professional organizations and in course development. Qualifications: Ph.D./D.B.A. in business or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred; minimum qualification of an M.S. or M.B.A in business or related field from an accredited institution. ABD will be considered if significant evidence of completion by August 2020 can be provided. CPA is desirable. Rank at the Lecturer level (for M.S. or M.B.A. candidates); will consider hiring at the Assistant Teaching Professor level commensurate with a doctorate and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Significant industry and prior college-level teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial environment with faculty and administration is required. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
