The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) within the College of Engineering is seeking a Financial Coordinator to be responsible for providing financial support and supervision of Financial Assistant positions for a high-volume department. This position is an important role, responsible for administrative and financial support for the CSE Department by serving as the lead financial administrator, providing oversight of the Department’s budgets and funds, general and research expenditures, and administering of internal procedures and guidelines. This position will be working directly with the financial staff, department head, associate head, and administrative coordinator. The successful candidate will need to be proficient in financial operations and have comprehensive knowledge of related policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with budget implementation; review budget amendments and transfers; review and approve Employee Reimbursement System (ERS) reports, expense documents, and Purchase Orders (POs); process salary distributions; execute the graduate assistantship appointment process; approve actions in Workday for graduate assistants, fixed-term faculty and staff, visiting scholars, and post-doctoral positions; provide direction to financial staff supporting CSE faculty; provide training and backup to center staff; and assist faculty and staff with resolving issues as needed, referring more difficult situations to the unit manager. This position will also support department operations through the planning, development, maintenance, and operation of statistical databases (including: faculty data, teaching loads, commitments, research awards, cost share, graduate appointments, etc.) and providing historical data and reports to assist in preparing information for various internal and external surveys and reviews. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with SAP Concur (ERS), eBuy, IBIS, Oracle BI (iTwo), SIMS, LionPATH, Office 365, and Workday is a plus. Excellent communication skills are required to understand, interpret, and issue clear instructions, both verbal and written.
