As part of this mission, the unit of External Awards and Reconciliation in the office of the Bursar/Student Financial Services (SFS) is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time position as an Accountant 3. This position is responsible for reconciling the federal and state programs, university loans, and university budgets within the unit. The accountant also maintains the state 529 programs, which includes posting payments and invoicing out-of-state 529 plans. The position calculates the daily draw down amounts for Title IV programs, and assists with the return of Title IV funds if necessary. The Accountant also assists with the preparation of year-end loan reports, and the preparation of the yearly FISAP report. This position also prepares JV’s/ROCR’s/SRFC’s as needed, and serves as a liaison between Office of Student Aid and the Bursar Office regarding the loan programs. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Experience with MS Office Suite software and knowledge of financial systems is preferred. This position also requires excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills. Due to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of this position, successful completion of a credit history check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
