Description

Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), a unit of Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) at The Pennsylvania State University, is seeking applicants for an IT Consultant. The position will manage a number of critical processes that support compliance of IT systems with regard to federal disability rights laws throughout the university. The position will work with staff from EIT, Purchasing Services, General Counsel, Risk Management, academic and other University units, as well as commercial vendors, to organize tests for compliance of proposed software and hardware products; report test results; and compile, process and submit requests for exemption from Penn State's accessibility policy AD69.This position is responsible for implementation of a quality assurance process for University mission-critical web pages and applications to assure compliance with federal disability rights laws and regulations. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required skills include knowledge of accessibility regulations, standards and best content and coding practices; a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated competency with documenting project and service delivery data; collaboration within a diverse team of subject matter experts. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of re-funding.
