The Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (OEC) is seeking to hire an intern for Fall 2019 to assist with a variety of entrepreneurship programs. This individual will report to the Associate Vice President for Research/Director of OEC. This is a part-time position responsible for supporting new and existing entrepreneurship programs through varied activities including administrative support, on-site event support, program data collection or online research; working on various projects to support OEC’s initiatives, programs, and events such as the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site, the Startup Leadership Network, Penn State’s network of Innovation Hubs and Startup Week. The ideal candidate is someone who is: a self-starter, comfortable with making connections with new people and building rapport; has a deep interest and preferably some experience with entrepreneurship or the entrepreneurial mindset; curious and willing to learn from others, detail- and process- oriented, excellent at written and verbal communications, able to set and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with the planning and execution of projects within the Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization, related to their area of expertise and study. The exact scope of the work may be customized to particular academic goals and desired learning outcomes. This individual will be paid $13.00 per hour for up to 120 hours of work during the semester. The student will be expected to track their progress towards their set goals and to produce a written progress report and a reflection paper upon completion of the internship.
